Hello! I know it's been a while since I've posted anything. I was having a great summer daydreaming about going to Disneyland for the 60th Anniversary. It's been 166 days since I've been, but it feels like and eternity. I miss the smell of fresh popcorn, cotton candy, and churros walking around, the sound of children laughing (sometimes crying because they don't want to leave), the excitement shared from person to person waiting in line for their favorite ride, but most of all I miss the feeling of being "home". When I'm at Disneyland I feel accepted by everyone and I know there are people around me who are just as obsessed as I am. I want to go sometime soon so I can see all the new 60th decorations. The castle is decorated with diamonds and there are new shows.
There is a brand new parade called "Paint the Night Parade" which is a parade that takes place at night down Main Street and the rest of the park. It is a new and improved electric light parade with a bunch of Disney's well-known favorites like Ariel, Toy Story, Tinkerbell, Frozen and many more with Mickey Mouse taking the end of the parade to leave you breathless! It is an upbeat parade with upbeat music and dancing that gets the crowd pumped and excited to be there! The children will want to get up and dance and so will the adults.
The World of Color has to be one of my absolute favorite shows at Disneyland, but it has changed and I can't wait to see it in person. It brings me to tears every time because it makes me think how lucky I am to be at Disneyland with the people I love. This is a beautiful contribution to Walt himself who is full of magic! Neil Patrick Harris is narrating it and interacting with Mickey Mouse himself. There are many well-known songs and movie clips in this show with special clips of Walt himself. Walt is my role model and just seeing how successful he was and to see what his park has become today makes me ecstatic.
"I hope we don't loose sight of one thing- that it was all started by a mouse" -Walt Disney
I am planning in the near future to go and experience all the 60th experience for myself, but for now, I am stuck living through my computer screen wishing I was there. I will just have to stick to listening to Disney music on my free time, watching movies, and watching YouTube videos of all the parades and rides until I am able to go again.
