Disneyland Paris

On April 12, 2017, Disneyland Paris will be celebrating its 25th anniversary. This means there will be a celebration with "starry decorations and exclusive shows, to a reimagined daytime Disney Stars on Parade and a dazzling Disney Illuminations nighttime show featuring Le Château de La Belle au Bois Dormant." Along with that, some of the rides are being improved for the guests. Peter Pan's Flight, Star Tours: The Adventures Continue, and Space Mountain are all being changed in time for the 25th anniversary.
I have never been to Disneyland Paris but hope to go someday in the next few years. I want to travel to Europe and visit Italy, Paris, and Germany. I also wish to some day go to every Disney park that I have yet to go to (Florida's Walt Disney World, Disneyland Paris, Hong Hong Disneyland, Shanghai Disney Resort, and Tokyo Disney Resort).

Blog Review

I recently found The Disney Blog and really enjoy it. It is run by many different men and women. This blog is wonderful and they have many posts about what is currently happing in "Disney news." They have many different easy to navigate sections of their blog including Walt Disney World, Disneyland, Television, Pixar Films, Star Wars, Marvel, Movies, Disney Animation, and Flordia Attractions. This blog is well put together and contains a lot of information. They post multiple times a day with through posts about any topic they are talking about. This is nice because each post contains a lot of information and shows they really know what they are talking about. There is only one thing that I do not like about this blog. I do not like the advertisements on the side of the page. It makes it look a little tacky because they do not all involve Disney. I think it would look better if they were Disney advertisements, considering this is a Disney blog, but they aren't. They are just regular ads that can be found on any other pages. I definitely recommend you following up with this blog as it contains many different posts for a fellow Disney lover.

Trump Animatronic in Walt Disney World's Hall of Presidents

In Walt Disney World there is a hall for all of the United States' Presidents. They add the newly elected president to the hall and this year the hall will be closed from January 17, 2017 through June 30, 2017 to add Donald Trump. This show starts with a video about the history of America then a curtain rises to show all of the presidents, including the current president. They all get a chance to speak and then at the end it features the speech of the current president.

There is a petition going around on change.org fighting to have President Trump's figure to not have any voice. People believe that in all of his speeches that he says hateful things and the children who visit do not need to hear the hateful things he has to say. " 'Donald Trump ran a presidential campaign on hateful speech, misogyny, racism, and xenophobia,' the petition reads. 'In doing so, he has tainted the legacy of the American Presidency forever.' Since Disney's Magic Kingdom is a place meant for families, Rogers says 'it is not an appropriate place for a Donald Trump speech.' " (Sad, Silent Trump).

Although I disagree with many things President Trump says and is wanting for our country, I do think it would be unfair to not let his animatronic character speak. Clinton, Bush, and Obama have all had the final speech of the show and would be incomplete without a final speech. If they do not have Trump do a speech they will need to find some other way to end the show. I am pretty sure Disney would not do that to Trump because that would cause some issues and Disney probably does not want to do that.

Tower of Terror Changing to Guardians of the Galaxy

As many people know, Disney has decided to change Tower of Terror in California Adventure from The Twilight Zone to a Guardians of the Galaxy theme. This theme change is occurring because Disney is wanting to change California Adventure's Hollywood Land into a Marvel themed area. The other reason is because their contract for using the theme is expiring so they thought it would be a good time to work on switching this area of the park.

I am not particularly happy with this decision because I absolutely love The Twilight Zone theme but I am excited to see how it comes out as Guardians of the Galaxy. I am not a big Marvel fan but there a few characters that I enjoy.

Disney's hopes are to make this section of California Adventure more popular as this is the area with the fewest guests. I hope this works for them and I am excited to see all the upcoming changes.

Spring!

It is now spring, and that means the park will start being busier! But do not let this stop you from going. The park is prettier than ever during this time. The flowers are bright, there are singing birds, beautiful butterflies, and baby ducklings all around the park. The flowers are replanted to match the bright season of spring which makes the park seem happy and lively.

This video is from the Disney Parks Blog in the post titled Disneyland Resort Horticulture Team Makes the Parks Blossom in Springtime

Also, I just recently found out that I get to go to Disneyland for my birthday this summer! Jamie's (my little sister) birthday is only two weeks before mine, so our parents decided we could go to our favorite place in the world to celebrate. We are planning on going on all the rides my sister is now tall enough to go on. She can now go on Indiana Jones and Matterhorn! These are two of my many favorite rides and I am glad she is finally tall enough to go on them. Our trip is still many days away, but I already can not stop thinking about it!

New Movies Coming Out

Well, Disney is always working on making new movies, but the movies coming out over the next two years are The Jungle Book, Alice: Through the Looking Glass, Finding Dory, The BFG, Peet's Dragon, Moana, and Pirates of the Caribbean: Dead Men Tell No Tales. I am extremely excited for all of these movies.
The Jungle Book looks like it will be mysterious but well made. It is about a young boy who was raised by a pack of wolves, but must leave them because a tiger is after him. This will be released on April 15, 2016.
Alice: Through the Looking Glass seems like it will be an amazing movie. It is a sequel to Alice in Wonderland (2010) and Alice is traveling back to Wonderland (also, back in time) to save the Mad Hatter. I am very excited to see this because I loved the first one and Johnny Depp makes an amazing Mad Hatter. It will be released May 27, 2016.
Image
Finding Dory has been a long awaited movie since it was announced in 2013. In this movie, Dory starts to remember some of her memories of her family. She then realizes she needs to find them so they know she is safe. This movie will be released June 17, 2016.
Image
I do not know much about The BFG except for it stands for Big Friendly Giant. It seems to be about a little girl from an orphanage who is afraid of a giant who is said to come out at midnight. She thinks (and soon figures out) the giant comes out at three in the morning when she is awake one night. It comes out on July 1, 2016.
Image
Peet's Dragon is another movie I do not know much about. After reading and watching some movie trailers, I think it is about a boy named Peet who lived in the forest for six years and has a dragon. The people who found him do not believe him as it seems unreal and crazy for a boy to have a dragon. This movie is released on August 12, 2016.

Image
Moana is a new Disney Princess who is Hawaiian. She leaves her native home to explore what is beyond the ocean. This comes out on November 23, 2016.
Image
I am very excited about Pirates of the Caribbean: Dead Men Tell No Tales because I love the storyline and comedy in it. Johnny Depp is an amazing Jack Sparrow and no one else can capture the attitude of him better than Johnny himself. It will be released on May 26, 2017.

I can not wait for all of these movies to come out!

Happy New Year!

Hello. It is now 2016! I hope you all had a wonderful Christmas, New Years, or other holidays you celebrate! I spent my winter break off of school with my closest friends and family. For Christmas, my family and I had two parties at our house. The first one was a sock exchange with all of my neighbors. I got some Mickey Mouse socks filled with candy and another pair of Disney socks! The second party was with all of my family where I got Disney villains Vans! I had really wanted these and was really happy to get them! My Christmas tree and all of our decorations are Disney too! We don't put anything on our Christmas tree that isn't Disney.

This year I want to watch all the Star Wars movies because I haven't seen them all and although they aren't all Disney, Disney does own Star Wars now. I would also like to go to Disneyland this year for the 60th Anniversary.

I hope everyone has a wonderful 2016.

How To Incorporate Disney Into Your Everyday Life

Have you ever wondered how you could add more Disney to your day? Well, here are some tips on doing so.

1. Listen to all kinds of Disney music as your alarm clock, when you are getting ready, walking/driving to school or where you are going, doing your work, or doing any other activity during your day.

2. If you don't have any way of listening to some Disney music, just sing it to yourself and others! It's okay if you don't think you can sing well, all that matters is that you are singing Disney music. Other people around you may even join in on singing with you and you can all enjoy the happiness that comes with singing together.

3. Quote any Disney quote you can. My favorite quote is "If you can dream it, you can do it" ~ Tom Fitzgerald. You can quote Walt himself, or any of your favorite Disney movies. "Faith Trust and Pixiedust" ~ Tinker Bell.

Image

4. You can also watch Disney videos online. My favorites to watch are all the parades and shows, but also the videos of people having the time of their lives. This makes me happy to see others enjoying something that makes me happy.

Now, these are just a few things you can do every day to add more Disney into your life. There are many other things you can do, just be creative!

I'm Back

Hello! I know it's been a while since I've posted anything. I was having a great summer daydreaming about going to Disneyland for the 60th Anniversary. It's been 166 days since I've been, but it feels like and eternity. I miss the smell of fresh popcorn, cotton candy, and churros walking around, the sound of children laughing (sometimes crying because they don't want to leave), the excitement shared from person to person waiting in line for their favorite ride, but most of all I miss the feeling of being "home". When I'm at Disneyland I feel accepted by everyone and I know there are people around me who are just as obsessed as I am. I want to go sometime soon so I can see all the new 60th decorations. The castle is decorated with diamonds and there are new shows.
There is a brand new parade called "Paint the Night Parade" which is a parade that takes place at night down Main Street and the rest of the park. It is a new and improved electric light parade with a bunch of Disney's well-known favorites like Ariel, Toy Story, Tinkerbell, Frozen and many more with Mickey Mouse taking the end of the parade to leave you breathless! It is an upbeat parade with upbeat music and dancing that gets the crowd pumped and excited to be there! The children will want to get up and dance and so will the adults.
The World of Color has to be one of my absolute favorite shows at Disneyland, but it has changed and I can't wait to see it in person.  It brings me to tears every time because it makes me think how lucky I am to be at Disneyland with the people I love. This is a beautiful contribution to Walt himself who is full of magic! Neil Patrick Harris is narrating it and interacting with Mickey Mouse himself. There are many well-known songs and movie clips in this show with special clips of Walt himself. Walt is my role model and just seeing how successful he was and to see what his park has become today makes me ecstatic.
"I hope we don't loose sight of one thing- that it was all started by a mouse" -Walt Disney
I am planning in the near future to go and experience all the 60th experience for myself, but for now, I am stuck living through my computer screen wishing I was there. I will just have to stick to listening to Disney music on my free time, watching movies, and watching YouTube videos of all the parades and rides until I am able to go again.

My Trip To Disneyland

On Thursday, April 9, 2015, I went to LA to perform at the Heritage Festival with the String Orchestra and Band classes. On the way there, we sang (mostly Disney songs), played games, and did lots of sleeping. It was an extremely exciting bus ride because there was so much enthusiasm within all of us. It was a long 10 hour drive, but once we got there we were so happy for the rest of our trip. On Friday, April 10, we had to perform at the Heritage Festival early in the morning. After we performed, we went to the Hollywood Walk of Fame for a few hours. We just went into all the stores there and looked at all the stars. After that, we went to Buca di Beppo for dinner. The next morning, Saturday, April 11, we all got up early to leave for Disneyland! We got there at about 8am and rushed into the park because we were so excited. Our first ride was Radiator Spring Racers. It was also one of my friend's first time going to Disneyland. Through the day, we went on Radiator Spring Racers, Tower of Terror, California Screamin', Ariel, Splash Mountain, Teacups, Snow White, Space Mountain, Pirates of the Caribbean, and Indiana Jones. It was a fun but busy day. We stayed in the park until 12 (closing time) and didn't get to our bus until 1am. The next day, Sunday, April 12, we left the hotel at 9am to start heading home. It was another 10 hour bus ride home and we got back at about 7pm.

My New Year's Resolution

For my New Year's Resolution, I want to go to Disneyland. The last time I went to Disneyland (although it may not seem a long time ago to you, it is to me) was March 16-21, 2013. Disneyland is my favorite place in the world! The next time I go, I want to go on all of my favorite rides like Tower of Terror, Space Mountain, California Screamin', Pirates of the Caribbean, and Indiana Jones, but there is no bad ride at Disneyland, so I'm sure I will make time to ride all of them! And OF CORSE I have to meet my favorite characters like Tinker Bell, Mickey Mouse, Peter Pan, and if I'm lucky, Anna and Elsa!

My other Resolution is I want to post some more on my blog. I'm not quite sure what to talk about so, if you would comment and tell me some ideas, I will try my best to make a post about them. Would you like me to talk more about Disneyland, some movies, Disney secrets, a certain character, Disney history, or even Walt himself?

Christmas at Disneyland

Have you ever been to Disneyland during Christmas? Well, If you haven't, I would recommend you definitely going! There are so many new things to see and it looks beautiful. They also theme their wonderful food to be Christmas themed. The parade is also changed. Santa and Mrs. Claus even show up in the parade! I think celebrating Christmas in Disneyland is the best because there is a giant tree, many colorful lights, amazing rides, and just the fact that you are in Disneyland makes it even better. I went with my family, I had a wonderful time looking at all the Christmas decorations and watching the parade.

How to maximize your stay at Disneyland

Disneyland is such a large place and at certain times of the year can be overly crowded, but if you know how to navigate your way around the parks,  your trip will become much more enjoyable. Here are some helpful steps to accomplishing this.

First, you should decide what rides you would like to go on.
Image

Second, it is helpful to know what land each ride is located in.
Image

Third, find the ride with a fastpass option and get one. It will have a time in which it can be used in. Also, use this to plan what rides you want to do in that area. It is better to stay in one area of Disneyland and not go back and forth between different lands.
(If this means waiting in a long line, its fine. It will be worth it and will be about equal time to go to another land and wait in a shorter line.)
Image

Forth, know where you would like to eat and plan on either going a little early/late to beat the crowd or waiting in longer lines at normal meal times.

Remember while trying to plan your day, this is “The Happiest Place on Earth.”

Welcome

My name is Britney and I am going to be starting this blog about my favorite thing in the world, Disney. I am a freshman in high school, have a little sister who is five-years-old, two dogs, two birds, and many fish. I always make Disney references which my friends don't understand. I have been to Disneyland seven times and I never get tired of going. Every time I go to Disneyland, I always get a churro, a pulled pork sandwich, a clam chowder bread bowl, cotton candy, pineapple, corn on the cob, fried chicken, and an R2D2 chocolate parfait. My favorite rides are The Twilight Zone Tower of Terror, Pirates of the Caribbean, Peter Pan’s Flight, Indiana Jones Adventure, Space Mountain, Splash Mountain, Big Thunder Mountain Railroad, and California Screamin’. My favorite Disney character is Tinker Bell and I always see her when I go to Disneyland. My wish is to go to Disney World and want to go within the next couple years.
